HUFS is waiting for the approval from the board of directors regarding the change of the official name of the Dept. of English Linguistics (DEL) to Dept. of ELLT (Department of English Linguistics and Language Technology).

Based on business model of the CORE, the faculty proposed the reshuffle in consideration of employment prospects in accordance with the era of fusion and convergence. Under the new name, the department will integrate linguistics studies with technology-relevant courses such as analysis of language data.

According to Kim Ji-eun, the dean of the Dept. of English Linguistics, these reorganizations aim to overcome the limitations of language education and widen job opportunity for students in information-technology fields.
