The 51st EPC’s fresh dream to start a new era for students has fallen short quickly after the Vice President Nam Han-gyul’s embezzlement. Nam’s Kakao Talk records proved that he had lied and used clumsy ways to cover up his crime. All of this was revealed on May 17 during the conference and bitterly disappointed both Nam’s companions and HUFSans. He is asked to account for his actions, and the EPC owes HUFSans a legitimate explanation. However, it is equally important that we reflect on our own actions.

Up until now, we have not given the EPC much attention or support. In fact, we do not care much for the EPC as the General Student Council. Additionally, when the EPC tried to open a student meeting to share their plans with the students, there were not enough attendants to make that conference happen. It is understandable that students are not content with the EPC especially after Nam’s incident. However, to prevent this incident from recurring, it is crucial that we change ourselves as well. Now is a good time to think of this situation as a blessing in disguise?a chance for us to cooperate more closely with the EPC.
